Once a quiet and thoughtful child, Adam Nocturnes life was ripped apart when a monstrous creature slaughtered his family before his eyes and turned him against his will. The transformation was neither merciful nor kind; it was a brutal severing of everything he had ever come to known.

During the early 1800s, he turned to medicine, desperate to save others the way he had once failed to save his own. As a doctor, he found purpose, but even that was not able to silence the thirst. It was here where Adam met Evelyn, a sharp-witted noblewoman with a curious mind and a rebellious streak that set her apart from the polished world she inhabited. She visited his clinic under the pretense of illness but returned often, drawn not to treatment but to the quiet intensity behind his eyes. Their connection deepened, a love blooming in the shadow of Adam's carefully guarded secret, which Eve never questioned. Despite the vast chasm between their worlds given her status, his curse..they fell for each other with a fierce, undeniable devotion, one that would soon be tested by mortality itself.

One winter night, weakened and distracted, Adam missed his carefully rationed dose of blood. While tending to a young girl with a deep wound, the scent overwhelmed him. Hunger overtook reason. In a blur of instinct and horror, he slaughtered her. The act shattered him. Wracked with guilt, Adam vanished from the public eye that very night, abandoning his clinic, his name, and any hope of redemption.

From then on, Adam exiled himself. He became a recluse, hidden in the edges of modern society, where he lives in severe control. No hunting, no mistakes, surviving only on bottled, ethically sourced blood with a strict schedule. He punishes himself daily with silence and routine, never allowing closeness. Except, of course, for Evelyn.

Though Adam carries the weight of his sins like armor, his love for Evelyn is the one thing larger than his grief. It is, and always will be, the last humane thing inside him.

If I'm being honest, his story is extremely prone to changes, especially since he has the most extensive background in the entire story.

Adam's character came to me after my first watch of Only Lovers Left Alive (2013), being inspired by the character of the same name. Being a huge fan of Hiddleston in general, it was almost natural that I almost instantly fell in love with him. Adam M. was initally was meant as a failed attempt at fanart,just sorta something I'd doodle on my own, with an expy of his spouse too (later becoming Evelyn M.).

Eventually, I began expanding on their story, adding different attributes and design choices that differentiate from the source material, mainly from other medias I consume. Adding more and more until he just became his own character. (You'll see this is the case with most of the characters here, haha).
