Edward "Eddie" Helsing
age: 49 (died at 25)
species: "flying" fox
identity: he/him + gay
cw: descriptions of suicide
Edward Helsing was once a rising star in the underground rock scene of the 1980s, known for his electric stage presence and defiant grunge-punk style that clashed with the conservative rot beneath the era's excess. His band The Dead Kids Club was gaining traction fast, but as whispers spread about Eddie's sexuality and the fear of AIDS tightened like a noose around the music scene, his bandmates began to vanish one by one, citing 'creative differences' while leaving him to drown in rumors and silence. Rejected, addicted, and spiraling into despair, Eddie climbed to the roof of his five-story flat and threw himself into the cold night air.
It should have been instant. His entire body was shattered beyond repair. But death, it seemed, didn't quite take. No one knows how he lived. Some whisper necromancy, others a deal made in a haze of pain and bad magic. He rose with bones that never quite set right, fur that slowly rots, and a pulse that doesn't beat. Yet somehow, his voice remains untouched: raw, powerful, and unmistakably alive. He calls it a second act. And if his body's falling apart? Well, rock and roll was never meant to be clean.
Webmaster's Notes
Probably the most fun I've ever had with an oc. Designing him was super simple, doodling him in stupid situations, what's not there to love about Eddie?
While there isn't much to say about him at the moment, his design is heavily influenced by classic rock styles of the 80s. Namely, L.A. Guns Kelly Nickels and Eddie Munson (his namesake). Alongside that, he was made as a subtle tribute to the 'Kas theory' in the Stranger Things fandom. If you know.. you know.
